I'm one of the old farts at GP and I have to say I like the humor of Iso's post...but honestly I don't think our modern society has gotten any more crazy...just crazy about different stuff....for gays minorities and women I not so sure the 50's were the good old days...and technology isn't is not all bad...think about this site and your grows...and I think beating kids does one sure thing....encourages them to see violence as a solution....i would never put a hand on my girls...I think most adults are smart enough to find other perhaps better means of persuasion and instruction...don't get me wrong I don't think now is the best of all possible times...but I hardly think the world is going to hell in a hand basket...the rivers, ponds, and oceans where i live are cleaner...the air is cleaner...nastalgia is not as good as I remember...come on anyone else gonna stand up for the present? |
