sorry for being humor less but that wouldn't be fun nor is this the most likely option we might face.

My reasoning for this:
technically are the USA still a republic, means that there is a fundamental framework to this society of laws which regulated the the rights of government and its electoral process and guarantees the inherent rights of its citizens. In reality the USA are in the flip-flopping status of an democracy with strong tendencies to a totalitarian state. Now lets start with the term "democracy" - this is state of an state that been a republic and is now in transformation to either a anarchy or totalitarian state - pre 1776. So the state of democracy is nothing you should asking for really!

But what is then the most likely form of future government if the current developments aren't stopped? Well, look around you and tell me what you see - "Patriot Act" "No-Child-Left-Behind-Act" etc - we heading towards totalitarianism.

And if you now look at the spin doctors of the current official candidates you get the affirmation as Obama's foreign adviser major piece of work was based around totalitarianism and how to erect a totalitarian regime in the USA, besides reopening the Cold War (Georgia and other former satellite states as the new "Berlin" and so on).

Also, socialism, which is the main wagon of Obama's campaign, is nothing else as a special form of a totalitarian regime as well. So that is where we a heading if we not regain the control we should have in a republic - we are the ones that should have the say and therefor the vote.
