i use 1-2 tbsp per gallon. sometimes i just add it right in, other times i boil like a quart or two of filtered water and put it in there first, then add more cold water to top off the gallon. i heard its better if you mix it in the hot water, but i mix it in cold anyways (lazy stoner). just remember never to get hot water from the tap to mix, instead get cold filtered water then boil it and add.
