hey everyone, my name is AcE....I'm new to the whole MJ scene....I've been coming to this site for about a month now reading everything I can in prep for my first grow....I built a box, put together an automatic watering system, and got some potting soil....I have been in the process of trying to acquire seeds for a few weeks now and have finally got some (bagseed) .... I am a technical kind of guy, so I thought about going Hydro or Aero, but at the last moment decided to do the first grow in some potting soil... I got some 10-10-10 mirical grow soil from a local home improvement store... I have germ'd about 8 to 10 seeds in a cup of water (well water from our pump) and about 5 have cracked.....my box is very small, about 3ft Height x 2ft Square.... I live in the southern panhandle so our summers are very hot and humid, and the box is in a non-ac'd shed outside...my main problem so far is heat....its in the 90s during the day, and i've got 200W+ of CFLs with a mix of colors....I turned on the lights and left them for an hour the other day and it got up to 130-F in there...NOT GOOD....so i decided to build me a DIY carbon filter with a computer fan.....which has helped....but it is still staying like 110-F with the lights on....I bought a small fan to circulate air in there today, so we'll see how that goes....i am really at whits-end trying to figure out how to cool this thing....I'm thinking about an intake fan, but i dont know if i can keep the box at a negative pressure like that....i am thinking about bringing the project into my closet of my office, but with the inlaws currently living with me, i'm hessitent... anyone got any ideas on cooling this thing?
