Welcome to GP. Some great people with lots of info, here.

If you are starting a grow in soil, I recommend Hyponex-$1.66 @ Wal Mart. Add about 40% perlite, some bone meal, a little blood meal. That's it. I have used expensive mixes from Fox Farms, etc., but simple and cheap really works. Videoman has a thread somewhere with his recipe. I have seen awesome results, using this mix.
