My wife and I own our home (OK, us and the bank..LOL) and she is not a smoker at all, and I smoke both cig's (bad for me) and bud (good for me), but she doesn't care for the "aroma's" of either, so, I respect her wishes and smoke cig's under the range hood, and bud in the grow room. Only time I've ever smoked bud in the house was when I was too sick to move or even stand up, and she brought it to me. I now keep an emergency pipe with pre-loaded bowl in the bathroom in case I get a serious vertigo attack and no one is home to help.
As for in the house, some folks get visitors that are non-bud-smoking friends (that don't need to know) or business associates...you don't want these people knowing about your personal business just because your house smells of it.
