That part is right. The red color comes in because near the end of the flowering period the suns rays are more reddish than blue, so plants have come to expect that over the last couple million years. BUT, plants are in general better able to utilize blue light, and because of that I have heard that they may have smaller but more potent buds.
Thats just rehashing some things I have read over the past year or so online, so take it with a grain of salt.
