Our gray box or heavy duty timer turns on for one hour twice a day. The water heater is set at 120 degrees (which is hot enough). Wash your clothes in cold water it is better for the clothing in the long run anyway.
The water heater is also wrapped in insulation to keep the heat in. We also insulated the tiny area it sits in also since it faces outside.
Anyway our entire house is electric and the bill doesn't get over $70. For more ideas on saving money see my space page. |
i got myself a hot water tank that keeps the water warm for 72h plus my heating jumps only in if this tank is down to 20%, i use so much the temp never drops far enough for this second temp mode to jump in. cut the gas use in half.
