I have been checking the Ph of the soil with a Rapitest meter I picked up a couple years ago for twenty bucks. It's just one of the ones with a needle on a dial, nothing fancy or electronic. However, I went to the store today and picked up a bottle of Superthrive, the Foxfarm Grow Big, and a 3 in 1 Ph/moisture/light meter, the latter for $8 US. So now I have two meters, and can play them off of each other. I'm sure I have been overwatering now, and I'm glad I waited a little instead of going ahead and throwing some nutes at them. They look exactly the same today(terrible) as they did yesterday, and I felt like I should have watered them yesterday. I watered them today, with some Superthrive thrown in for good luck. I guess I was probably overwatering to compensate for the heat in there. As for that, I'll probably end up getting a bigger fan, but I want to try something this weekend. I want to attach a piece of plexiglass to the bottom of the light fixtures, leaving room around the edges for air to escape upward. Hopefully it will keep most of the heat in the upper compartment where the bulbs and fan are. Smokedoja, have you had any problems with heat with yours? Like I said, if that doesn't work, then I guess I'll trade out that fan for another. I figured it would be fine because its rated 64 CFM, which theoretically should replace the air in there every 8 seconds. Oh well, such is life, eh? Smokedoja, if it lets me upload them, some pics of my tub. Let me know if that satisfies you. Thanks all!
