Marijuana "treats" sold by ice cream truck in Texas? Police say the jingle of this particular ice cream truck signaled the arrival of "pot-sickles."
Elementary school students reportedly tipped Police off to an ice cream truck driver who was selling nickel ($5) and dime ($10) bags of marijuana from the truck. The majority of the customers were in the third, fourth, and fifth grades.
"It's a scary thought, but that's the info we received," Mission police Chief Leo Longoria said, according to the AP.
Police arrested a 40-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico named Raymundo Flores. He was charged with possession of marijuana. A judge set bond at $30,000 and he was transported to Hidalgo County jail after.
Flores' case will more than likely be turned over to federal immigration officials, Assistant Police Chief Robert Dominguez told the AP.
While police didn't witness any sales, a drug sniffing dog was utilized to help them find baggies of marijuana along with the more traditional frozen treats.
News video also shows the driver engaging in some subtle advertising. While the outside of the truck has pictures of ice cream, pendants in the shape of marijuana leaves hung inside the truck.
